Privacy Policy – Voice & Language Translator
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This policy explains how the Voice & Language Translator app ("the app"), published by CodePilot Labs, handles your information.
1. Information you give the app
- Text, speech, photos and documents. When you translate, the text you type, the text recognised from your speech, the text read from a photo, or the text extracted from a document is sent over an encrypted connection to Google translation and text-to-speech services to produce the result. English words you look up are sent to the Free Dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev). We do not store this content on any server.
- Text from other apps. If you select or share text from another app to translate it, only that text is sent for translation, in the same way.
- History and favourites. Your translation history and favourites are stored only on your device. You can delete them in the app at any time, and they are removed if you uninstall the app.
- Photos are read on your device. The image itself is not uploaded.
- Speech recognition is performed by your device's speech service (provided by Google on most Android phones).
- Documents are opened on your device. Only their text is sent for translation.
2. Information collected automatically
The app uses these third-party services, which may collect information as described in their own privacy policies:
- Google AdMob (advertising): shows ads and may collect your IP address and approximate location, device and app identifiers (such as the app set ID), ad interactions and diagnostics, for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention. policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Google Firebase Analytics: collects app usage events and device identifiers to help us understand how features are used.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: collects crash reports and device diagnostics so we can fix problems.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging: uses a device token to send app notifications.
- Google Play Billing: processes any in-app purchases. We do not receive your payment details.
Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
The app does not use the Android advertising ID and does not ask you to create an account.
3. Consent
Where required by law (for example in the UK and EEA), the app asks for your consent before showing ads, using Google's consent tool. You can change your choice at any time from the app's settings or by reinstalling the app.
4. Permissions
- Camera: to photograph text for translation.
- Microphone: for voice input and voice conversation.
- Notifications: to send app notifications.
- Internet and network state: to translate and show ads.
You can turn off any permission in your phone's settings.
5. Data retention and deletion
We do not run our own servers and do not keep your translations. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google under Firebase's retention settings. To ask about or request deletion of data linked to your device, email us at the address below.
6. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
7. Security
All data the app sends is encrypted in transit using HTTPS.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
